Don’t be intimidated with the establishment BS. Pass the 3 cards you hate the most. No need to pass a heart and no need to cover your pass. There are other ways to stop a moon.

Go to sleep before it's too late :-)

Assess the hand you are dealt. Then choose your best strategy you can create based on what you can pass on.

Remember, most are here to play a game, not to give themselves credibility as human beings. Have fun AND be courteous to all just as you would like others to be toward you. Peace and blessings.

Never play drunk!

Remember as much as you can about what has been played.
Don't play when your tired!

Play to win. Going after the low person and trying to avoid giving points to the high person when you’re not low helps your chances of winning. Have fun. Once you figure out a basic strategy, it becomes mostly the cards you’re dealt.

Cover your pass always if possible

Get down to less than four suites ASAP!

Count spades each hand. Let's you know if you should push spades or bail early before other players slough high cards.
Also, it takes a village to stop a moon.

Cover your pass. Don’t lead spades when the low player plays last.

So far, my favorite strategy is to try and eliminate an entire suit from your hand. It can bite you in the behind if someone is trying to run hearts and you don't have the suit they are running it with though.

Always pass a low heart to someone with a Moon icon.

Don't lead spades unless 1)you're low or 2)you only have one or two or 3)you're going to take the queen if you don't lead spades.

For the love of the game, go for low and pass a heart and/or cover

If I keep the queen, I try to keep one or two low diamonds or clubs to get me out of the lead.

If possible, pass a heart you can cover.
If possible, play the queen on lowest score, unless there is a loudmouth at the table who deserves it.

When your passing cards try to include a low heart, that prevents shooting the moon.

Just have fun. There is no prize money. Don't tell others how to play, and don't spew vitriol. Chat like best friends.

Shrug off the obnoxious people who criticize your play. They do not have your hand memorized and are wrong most of the time. I would like to go ape about this but it is against my nature.... or is it? Have fun!

Play the hand you are delt. Hold the Queen if you have coverage…..void a suit if possible….be respectful of others and be patient!

Dumping and ducking won't get you far! Co-op against low may get you the whole way!

Stop day drinking.

pass high cards,or all one suit. Keep the ♤queen♤ with at least 2 other spades

when you are playing with 2 duckers and a moonshot lover then stop trying to block and just let the guy shoot the moon so that duckers can suffer and think twice before they duck. It will help you in the long run.

if you enable them with blocking they'll duck even more and would make it way easier for the ms guy to achieve his goal while leaving you with worse score since you have to hold high numbers and hearts while duckers just dump those.

if you let ms guy shoot the moon you can still have a shot for the 2nd place but if you keep trying to block while others duck it is likely that you would end up being the 4th.
